Starting from what was a hobby, Mira Mandic´ launched her couture label in 1994 with a small collection of exquisitely hand crafted evening and bridal gowns. The collection was extremely well received, thus allowing her to grow the business to the point at which her Double Bay boutique is now recognised as one of Australia's leading couture houses.

In 1996 Mira won the inaugural Australia Bridal Industry Award for Excellence and in 1999, the Australian Achievers Award. These awards encouraged her to continue to develop and refine her art, her emphasis being to harmonize the relationship between fabric and body form.

As a result, Mira has minimized the restrictive nature of traditional bridal corsetry, and worked on proportioning to enhance a women.s natural curves, at the same time minimizing the appearance of problem areas. Unique combinations of silk chiffons, georgettes, soft liquid silks. metallic woven linens, light embroideries, mousselines, organza's and delicate laces give rise to elements of fantasy, sensuality and grace. This philosophy has led to a client base stretched across the globe, with demand for both red carpet and wedding gowns.

Mira's most famous creation to date was the 2.5 million dollar gown, the first of it's type, made in conjunction with Debeers Diamonds and Cerrone jewellers. Designed to help raise money for the Children's Cancer Research Foundation, this unique gown was constructed in silk chiffon where the only thing between viewer and wearer was the fine floral embroidery and hundreds of diamonds.
